Good hardback with no jacket. Scattered foxing throughout and along the closed page edges, cover has some fading, gilt letters to spine quite faint but overall a tidy copy of a hard to find title. Original cloth. Some marks to blue boards. Slight bumping to edges. No inscriptions.

A biography of John Rhodes Cobb a British Motor racing driver and holder of many speed records. Cobb died tragically in 1952, while trying to improve the water speed record on Loch Ness. John Rhodes Cobb (2 December 1899 – 29 September 1952) was an early to mid 20th Century English racing motorist. He was three times holder of the World Land Speed Record, in 1938, 1939 and 1947, set at Bonneville Speedway in Utah, U.S.A. He was awarded the Segrave Trophy in 1947.
