This is a warm family history, essentially about the author's grandmother Susannah Tarling, who migrated to New Zealand (Lyttelton Harbour) in 1880, and her descendents. Although frail in body, she showed magnificent strength of character as her misfortunes in new colonial Canterbury are revealed. Book includes over 30 illustrations.
