An incredibly rare piece of New Zealand publishing history: the premier, inaugural 1893 edition of the New Zealand Official Year-Book.
Compiled by the Registrar-General's Office, this historic first volume established the framework for all modern statistical tracking in NZ, offering an unparalleled look at the colony's demographics, early infrastructure, and late-Victorian development.

This is the original Octavo edition bound in classic brown buckram boards, featuring ornate black decoration and elegant gilt lettering to both the front board and the spine.

• Maps & Insert: Complete. Features the large folding map at the front (which has a minor tear restricted to the margin, not affecting the map image). Crucially, the second folding map and the large fold-out statistical summary chart are both present and in Very Good condition.
Condition Report (Good Antique Condition):
• Exterior: The cloth boards are rubbed, bumped, and marked from age. The corners and spine ends show standard heavy wear and minor chipping, but the spine remains solid.
• Interior & Binding: The binding remains firm and structurally sound. The text block shows light natural tanning with foxing (age spotting) to the end-papers and the closed page edges. Features two neat previous owner stamps on the interior, one page has 
Errata slip tipped in on page 106.
