Very good hardbacks with torn jackets. Navy blue faux leather boards with gilt lettering to spine. Binding firm, a little compression and rubbing to edges, no inscriptions, light foxing to page edges, minor marks. Jackets are marked, foxed, creased, chipped and torn with some loss on spine ends.

Vol 1 has foxing to edges of paste downs and ffep, small tear in paper on last paste down. The jacket has repaired tears to top of spine. Vol 1: 854 pages, illustrated + Vol 2: 659 pages.
