Very good hardback with jacket, some creasing and compression to spine, no inscriptions, light tanning to pages otherwise very good, binding firm. Jacket has rubbing, shelf/edge wear, scuffed and chipped edges, minor marks, fading to spine.
This history of the Ashburton town and the surrounding district begins with the arrival of the first immigrant settlers in 1853, following the events and developments of the area for the next 100 years, traversing the obstacles and difficulties faced by the pioneers through two world wars, several episodes of economic uncertainty, including the Great Depression of the 1920' and '30s, but overcoming all adversities in the knowledge that the area's agricultural investment.
