Assuring and Enduring tells of Civic Assurance's development as New Zealand's local government insurer of recourse and a financial services provider - interspersed with sections that describe challenges to local government through earthquakes, tsunamis, floods and volcanoes. A chapter relates the effects of Christchurch's tragic earthquakes, which have brought the largest claims made on Civic Assurance. Told in an accessible style and accompanied by plentiful illustrations, this is a success story of a company that has truly stood the test of time and disaster.
