Chums Annual 1941 [The Final Bound Volume].

Publisher:
Amalgamated Press Ltd, London, 1941.

Red pictorial cloth boards stamped in black with bright gilt title to the front cover. Binding remains firm. Boards show slight rubbing, minor marks, and compression to the spine ends, with some general dulling/fading to the spine fabric. Internally, a large rectangular piece has been neatly cut away from the top of the front free endpaper. Pages are predictably tanned due to wartime paper stock, showing light foxing to the text block edges, minor creasing, and occasional light chipping to the margins. A solid, complete copy with all 4 colour plates present and in good condition.

348 pages, heavily illustrated throughout with full-page and in-text black-and-white drawings.

The final annual publication of this legendary British boy's adventure paper, discontinued in 1941 due to strict WWII paper shortages. A scarce historical volume packed with standalone and serialized tales of scouting, aviation, historical battles, and classic empire adventure fiction.
