Alpine and heliski guide killed in an avalanche at Mt Cook National Park in 1989. Biography of one of New Zealand's most respected climbers. Born in Oamaru in 1952, Dave joined the NZ Alpine Club in 1966, began alpine skiing in 1972 and was a mountain guide all of his adult life. He made 14 ascents of Mt. cook and stood on 20 NZ peaks of 3000m or more.
