Good hardback with jacket, binding firm, some fading to edges, crease to corner on back cover, minor marks. Blank white labels to endpapers, large foxing spots to 3 or 4 pages, with some corner creasing (most pages are very good), abrasion to rear endpaper where label has been removed, light abrasion to title page where possibly inscription has been erased. Jacket is in fair condition, price-clipped, scuffed, chipped, small closed tears and pieces missing to edges. . 222 pages with photos.
This book is about the 1972 Trans-Americas Expedition, an incredible journey across the Darien Gap with two Range Rovers and a Landover Pathfinder. Braddon was born in Sydney. He served in the Malayan campaign during World War II. He was held as a prisoner of war by the Japanese in Pudu and Changi prisons and on the Thailand-Burma Railway between 1942 and 1945. "The Naked Island", published in 1952, was one of the first accounts of a Japanese prisoner of war's experience.
