Hardback. Light blue cloth boards are well worn, marked rubbed and chipped with some splitting to cloth to spine. Frontispiece with complete, although foxed, tissue guard. Only 2 of the other 6 b&w illustrations remain.

There is a wonderful gift inscription to the ffep dedicated to Dorothy H Macandrew, daughter of Hunter Macandrew, and grand-daughter of James Macandrew, Dunedin ship-owner and politician. (1818-1897). Dorothy married Allan 'Norman' HAGGITT in 1923, and there is a signature of Virginia Haggitt also to the ffep. The book has obviously passed down through the family. A lovely piece of social history. 242 pages plus 7 pages of publisher's adverts . Mary Louisa Molesworth (1836-1921), author of beloved children's novel "The Tapestry Room," tells of a young girl's experiences finding magic and mystery in the ancient homestead of her ancestors, in "The Cuckoo Clock."
