This book celebrates the achievements of Canterbury women over the decades since they achieved full voting rights in NZ in 1893 . Its 13 chapters came from a number of contributors, with one compiled by "many hands" and another by a local history group of Canterbury University women. The chapters range over topics including womens' groups, sport , Maori women, women at home, working in health, education or trade unions, in the country, during the "slump" or in peace movements.
