Good hardback. Pictorial papered boards are quite rubbed and bumped at edges. Rubbing to boards has caused white marks to front and back. Chipping and fading to spine. Binding firm, no inscriptions. A little corner creasing and minor foxing. Last page of text is quite tanned/foxed. 128 pages, over 70 b&w illustrations throughout the text. 8 Full page colour plates in good condition except the 2nd plate is torn in margin.
Desirable copy as later editions of this book only contain 4 colour plates.
