Very good for age. Leather bound hardback, some rubbing and compression to edges/corners with some small parts of leather worn away. Minor marks to boards. Gilt titles are still quite bright with some rubbing. Marble paste-downs, end-papers and page edges. Binding firm. First and last few pages are heavily foxed. Scattered foxing - mainly to margins. Fold-out map in very good condition. Fold-out appendix is quite foxed. 790 pages, illustrated.
