Author Geoff Bryant travelled throughout the country interviewing and photographing many of the people and places featured in the book, and also researching the early history and sourcing numerous archival images, many from private collections. He writes of the prime breeding stock that laid the foundations for the growth of Angus studs in New Zealand, as well as the importance of shows, national sales, beef expos, Angus youth programmes and the growing influence of on-farm auctions.
