Very good hardback with jacket. Blue coth boards have some mottling, and minor bumping. Neat name and address inside front board. Ffep has been removed. Some tanning and foxing to pages. Price clipped jacket is foxed, chipped, and rubbed with some marks. Spine has some fading. White tape on edges of reverse side. 384 pages with illustrations and 12 b&w plates (all present and in very good condition).
The author and his companion, Richard Matthews, both New Zealanders, set out in Emily, the Baby Austin, in May 1930 with the idea of travelling 'eastward from Sydney, always eastward when possible, until we should reach our starting-point again'.
