It includes critical and historical notes on the text and a "New Life of Plutarch" written by the Langhornes. This particular edition is sometimes listed as the first edition of the Langhornes' translation, or as a distinct printing by the Mundells.
Six hardbacks, paper splitting to internal hinges but bindings firm, some rubbing, chipping, bumping, foxing, fading and marks, some gilt from the titles and design has faded/rubbed away, spine ends quite chipped with some loss, some of the leather on corners and edges has rubbed away, no owner inscriptions, pages are tanned, foxed and creased, heavy foxing to closed edges, minor marks.
All 6 Illustrated with frontispiece.
