Very good hardback with jacket. Boards have some fading at spine ends and a small mark to front cover. No inscriptions, pages are excellent. Jacket is chipped, rubbed, and marked with some closed tears, some fading to front cover, small piece missing, and a hole at top of spine.

Peter McIntyre, who was New Zealand's official war artist during the Second World War, had a holiday home in Kakahi and produced a number of paintings of the settlement and the wider area. They were reproduced in his 1972 book Kakahi New Zealand. Full page colour paintings.
