Matches the criteria for a first edition as stated in Bagnall T705. (second edition states 1926 and is a different size to the first edition).
Good hardback in burgundy cloth with gilt titles and design. Boards are rubbed, bumped and marked, some creasing to spine. Large gift inscription to ffep dated 1921, pages are tanned, foxed and marked with a couple of small closed tears to edges. Originally had 16 b&w plates but one is missing. 592 pages.
