The jacket is from a later printing (1957), but may be collectible in itself as it has a misprint in the title's list on the rear flap. It is missing the S from the end of the word 'messages': it should read: The Mystery of the Strange Messages. Hardback with jacket, binding firm, some minor rubbing and bumping, fading to spine, stains and marks, ffep has been removed, foxing throughout, one page has a piece torn off outside margin, stain to corner of last couple of pages and inside rear board. Jacket has marks, chipping, creasing and rubbing, tape repairs to reverse side. 182 pages, illustrated.
