A Threefold Cord: A Precept, Promise, and Prayer from the Holy Scriptures for Every Day in the Year.

London: The Religious Tract Society, nd [c.1840s–1850s]. New Enlarged Edition. Printed by Spottiswoode. Miniature Hardcover.

A beautiful mid-19th-century micro-format devotional book providing a tri-part scripture structure for every calendar day. A highly collectible example of early Victorian miniature leather production.

Miniature constraint (measures approximately 3" x 2.25").
Bound in full original dark brown genuine leather.
Features an ornate, lovely gilt pattern of trailing leaves down the length of the spine alongside title and publisher lettering. Front board displays a leaf design and titles. Lettering is a little worn. Thin gilt design around edges inside front and back covers.
Displays minor rubbing to the edges, and chipping to the leather at the spine extremities.
The structural text block binding remains remarkably tight, square, and firm. Leaves are in very good, clean, condition, minor marks. All edges gilt (rose gold) remaining uncommonly bright and reflective.
Appears to be missing the front free end-paper (ffep), with the text block opening directly to the early preliminary leaves. No inscriptions.
• Overall: Graded as a Good to Very Good (G/VG) antiquarian specimen. A lovely little devotional item displaying premium Victorian gold tooling to the cover.
