This atmospheric and haunting book recounts the solo sailing adventures of the young Andrew Fagan, a music legend in New Zealand in the 1980's. to escape the crowds, Andrew enjoyed nothing more than solo sailing, and he took his beloved boat, 'Swirly World in Perpetuity', on some great adventures, including a trip to Raoul Island, a trans-Tasman race (eyes popped when people saw how small the boat was) and a circumnavigation of New Zealand. Along with the expected hardships and dangers of ocean sailing in a small craft, the voyages offered opportunities for reflection. the author does not dwell on his musical career, but the book includes a chapter about the band's trip to Jerusalem to shoot a music video. Andrew Fagan is a skilful writer, and with its blend of drama and philosophy, this book will have wide appeal.
