The New Zealand Company's Native Reserves: Compiled from Parliamentary Papers, Departmental Documents, and other Authentic Sources of Information. By JELLICOE, Roland L. (Compiler).
Wellington: W.A.G. Skinner, Government Printer [for the Native Trust Office / Sir Āpirana Ngata], 1930. True First Edition / First Printing.
Hardcover (no dust jacket, as issued).
The highly scarce, historically foundational 1930 colonial documentation tracking the distribution, legislative history, and 10 per cent allocations of Māori land reserves across the Wellington and Nelson regions. Compiled by Roland Jellicoe under the authority of Sir Āpirana Ngata's Native Trust Office, this lean octavo remains a critical legal and genealogical research touchstone for modern Treaty of Waitangi claims and New Zealand corporate settlement history.
• Binding & Cloth: Original publisher’s blue cloth boards featuring a small, distinctive gilt illustration and bright gilt lettering stamped squarely to the front cover panel. Core structural binding remains completely firm and secure. Spine cloth is distinctly dulled down with light rubbing, bumping, and minor chipping to the extremities. Displays a light stain to the rear board running through both the inside and outside cloth surfaces, not penetrating the internal leaf block.
• Interior: x, 116 pages. Comprising extensive, detailed regional reference tables. The first and last few leaves are heavily foxed, giving way to light, scattered foxing throughout the remaining body pages. No previous owner names.
• Edges: Closed outer text block edges show light, age-appropriate scattered foxing.
• Overall: A Fair to Good (G) collector's copy of an elusive and legally significant 1930 New Zealand historical document.
