Thomas Roker Alexander Gosper was born on 10 May 1768 at St. Marys, Rotherhithe, Surrey, England, the son of Thomas Roker and Jane Worton Gosper. Thomas was transported to Australa in in 1790. He first appears in colonial records on 19 November 1794, when he was granted thirty acres of heavily timbered land on the western bank of the Hawkesbury River, opposite what is now called the township of Windsor. Sometime prior to 1798, Thomas took up with a third fleet convict, and fellow Londoner, Mary Hipwell. She had a son, Edward Reynolds, by a previous relationship. Thomas and Mary had four sons. Mary died in 1837 and Thomas in 1847. 383 pages, illustrated, plus index of names.
