Very good hardback, blue cloth boards with gilt titles to spine and gilt decoration to front cover, top edge of pages are gilt coloured, no jacket. Rubbing and bumping to edges, small dent to top edge and edge of back cover. Binding firm, name to ffep. Heavy foxing to end-papers, minor foxing to page edges. Tissue guard to frontispiece, pages very good, minor marks. Two fold-out maps at rear, both have a small closed tear at inner margin. 253 pages, illustrated.

Includes chapters on chapters on Whangaroa, North Cape, Hauraki Goldfields, Mayor Island, The Urewera, Karamea and the Southern Alps.
